Hurricane Risk Consulting for LA Farm Bureau Insurance Company
Engensus worked with the Louisiana Farm Bureau Insurance Company to aid their effort in complying with LA DOI regulations requiring property insurers to provide premium discounts to policy holders that either build new homes or retrofit existing homes to be more resistant to damage from windstorms.

52 Bed Nursing Facility, Lockport, LA
ENGENSUS worked with Jordan and Associates and River Bend Builders to design the structural system for a 52 bed nursing facility with 126 mph wind speed requirements.

Hurricane Hazard Consulting for Children’s Hospital of New Orleans
Engensus worked with Children’s Hospital of New Orleans to study the hurricane threat that the hospital faces.  Our work included a comprehensive assessment of wind speed return periods, wind loading, and flood hazard. 

Sign Truss Design
Engensus worked with GEC, Inc. to design replacement sign support structures for LADOTD that are to be located on the I-10 Mississippi River Bridge in Baton Rouge, LA.   New directional signs with larger sign areas and new configurations are now required, prompting the redesign. 

LNG Plant Wind Load Design Criteria
ENGENSUS worked with JDH Consulting to develop wind loading criteria to be used by engineers in the design of a new Liquified Natural Gas plant in Western Australia. 

Hurricane Katrina Forensics Investigations
ENGENSUS is providing expert consultation to determine the causes of hurricane damage to buildings and structures across the northern Gulf of Mexico as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

 

Hurricane Rita Building Damage
Engensus recently studied the damage that occurred to a three-story building in southwest Louisiana during Hurricane Rita.  The analysis highlighted the beneficial impact on life-cycle costs that can be gained by carefully planning facilities with hurricane hazards in mind.
